Mel S. Harris, Collection Agency

I have had the misfortune of dealing with the Collection Agency run by Mel S. Harris a so called Attorney. Well I have learned alot through going through this experience. It is not over, but I wish to help others with what I have learned.

One of the first things you should learn about Mel S. Harris is that they at first send out a phony summons with SUMMONS wrote in big, bold, letters to scare the debt holder which is us the little guy. You should know you need to hold onto these summons, they are phony and if you save them it is proof they committed Fraud and is great evidence against them if you have to go to court.

I will be posting more about these slum collection agencies in the future and Mel S. Harris and ways you can fight them.

Yes, I had a run in with Mr. Harris's firm and was left with no alternative but to file for bankruptcy. My debts were discharged today and he can kiss my ass. Now they get NOTHING!!! By the time they sent me a copy of the summons, it was too late to go to court and a judgement had been granted by the court. I pleaded with these "people" and when I attempted to work out some sort of payment plan, I was laughed at. They froze my account...all $500.00!!! My rent check bounced and other automatic charges. It cost me about $350 in fees...let alone the cost of filing for bankruptcy. They were trying to garnish my paycheck. The government really needs to do something about these bloodsuckers. The majority of debtors would like nothing more than to pay their debts but cannot afford to do so. They treat us like we're sitting on bags of money and most of us are struggling. Obviously, the state of NY and federal government realized I was unable to pay this. It's unfortunate that I had to go through with this bankruptcy to get these bottom feeders off my back.

Well, looks like this blog went dead along with a bunch of others that claim to want to fight these guys, but here goes anyhow... I filed complaints with the NYS AG, the FTC and The Bar Association. While I have a Hearing coming up that I am unable to attend because it's 3 hours away and would cost me too much to attend, the FTC and the NYS AG did nothing. I sent a nice nastygram to the NYS AG, thanking them for that, but other than that, I am left writing a letter to send to defend myself against these scumbags. Of course the Bar Association is a bunch of attorneys so what's that tell you?

My Bank and Employer have agreed to shield me so that Mel and his scum don't get any of my money so I'm lucky. But not everyone has that advantage. To sum it up... no one is going to do anything against Mel and his cohorts because it's all part of the economy and if you take it away, that part will fail and no one wants that now do they?
